A personal impressions for this beautiful indie deck “Native Journey Tarot”.

Its Designs

Beautiful and dreamy, lights and shadows. Sea and land creatures, no human figure.

Major Arcana

Each Major Arcana card contains three keywords.

The name of each card is totally different from other typical tarot decks. According to the booklet, these 22 cards can also be used as Oracle cards, and 22 meanings different from tarot are also described in it. You can enjoy these cards twice with one grain.

Each suite is described as these; Wands = feathers, Cups = vessels, Swords = arrows, and Pentacles = stones.

Overview/Features

This deck is manufactured by Rayne Jackson Visions LTD, name of three authors are listed on the box as authors. The card size is 88mm x 126mm, a bit larger than standard tarot deck size.

The cardstock itself is thin, but it is linen processed, maybe, that gives us a sense of luxury. Very comfortable touch.

Personal Impressions

What I like

Beautiful artwork, let me feel as if I’m diving into the sea. Keywords written on each card are quite simple and clear.

What I don’t like

For a couple of cards, keywords are hard to read because white texts are written on white drawing backgrounds.

In my deck, there is one single card which paper quality is decidedly different from other 77 cards (see the photo below).native journey tarotOnly this card in the center of the photo has brighter colour, thicker paper, and different surface feel.

Actually, I don’t care if it is only the colour difference. However, since this card is thicker than the others, it pops out quite often during the shuffle. Here’s why I don’t adopt jumping cards system.

As you use your deck, some cards inevitably get bent, scratched or become more dirty than others. Then, during shuffling, these especially worn cards start jumping out quite often, hitting the desk etc. and get damaged more, then as a result it becomes much easier to jump out. If you often see a same card jumping out too often, I think it’s time to change it to a brand new deck.

Where to buy

I bought it on etsy author site.

Wrap Up

I uploaded a video to YouTube for this deck. If interested, please check it too!
